Solutions to improve the competitiveness of enterprises in the wood furniture industry of Vietnam after eight years of WTO accession

Abstract

At present, there are about 2,536 enterprises operating in the household furniture industry (mainly small-scale enterprises, obsolete equipment), enterprises of the household furniture industry in Vietnam. Only meet the requirements of the domestic market in terms of quality, design and product design. However, the size of the enterprise is small, the price of the product is low; Less able to compete with foreign businesses; Market access and limited customer demand (businesses are often passive due to orders); Enterprises are less able to renovate their equipment due to limited funding; Low management level; The company has not paid much attention to branding and has not yet had experience in negotiating with foreign partners. In order to improve the competitiveness of Vietnam's household woodworking industry, it is necessary to simultaneously implement a number of solutions including planning to promote export orientation and encourage the development of business enterprises. Household wood industry through credit policy, investment, tax and policies to support trade promotion, product promotion, brand building for businesses.
