Design and Development of Adevice to Measureatmospheric Humidity in a Grain Drying System
Abstract
SUMMARY
Monitoring the humidity in a grain drying system has played a very vital role in enhancing the quality of products. The present paper focuses on the design and development of a device for measuring relative humidity using sensor HS1101. In fact, HS1101 is a capacitor that has capacitance related to relative humidity. The sensor was combined with integrated circuit timer CMOS 555 in an oscillating circuit to produce a signal with a humidity-dependent frequency. The signal period was then read by a microcontroller named AT89C52. Finally, the value of signal period was sent to a computer to calculate and display the value of measured relative humidity.
