Abstract
The objective of this experiment was to study the relationship between morpho-anatomical characteristics of the haulm and lodging resistance of early maturing rice varieties. It was shown that lodging resistance is related to plant height, first and second internode length, vascular bundles and parenchymal cells. A model plant with good lodging resistance should have plant height of 100 cm, short internode length, more than 30 vascular bundles and the thickness of the parenchymal cells larger than 170 MKm
