Abstract

The experiment was conducted to determine the optimum plant spacing for TB25 groundnut cultivar in Spring season at Gia Lam, Hanoi. The experiment design was a randomized complete block design with three replications. The results showed that there were negative correlations between plant density with duration, the number of flowers per plant, dry matter weight, nodule weight, SPAD index, SLA index, components of yield and pod yield per plant (r = - 0.97 to - 0.49), whereas plant density had
positive correlation with LAI (r = 0.94). Population yield increased with increasing plant density from lowest density (25 plant m-2), reached the highest at 40 plant m-2 then decreasing with increasing plant density. With 40 plant m-2, the yield of TB25 cultivar produced highest yield of 38.81 quintals ha-1 with highest economic efficiency.
