Evaluation of Agronomical and Quality Traits of Some Combination of the New Two-Lines Rice Hybrids

Abstract

The experiment was conducted in 2010 with 19 combinations derived from crosses between TGMS lines (TGMS T1 S-96, T141 S, T7S, E15 and̀ 135S) and restorer lines. The purposes of this study was to identify the combinations with high yielding ( 8-9 tons/ha for spring and 7-8tons/ha for summer cropping season), short growth duration, high quality and resistant to insects and diseases. The check variety is two-line hybrid TH3-3 which was planted in every 10 combinations. The plot size was 5 m2, with single seedling per hill, 40 hills/m2. Two promising combinations T141S/R6 and T141S/R5-2 having high yield, good quality, slightly fragrant, suitable plant type and especially, the growth duration suitable for Northern Delta’s growing condition.
