Modelling of Specific Drying Time in Stationary Deep-bed Layer Drying of Paddy

Abstract

This study was conducted to examine the effect of convective drying conditions such as temperature and velocity of drying air, grain bed depth and time reversing drying air to specific drying time in stationary deep-bed layer drying of paddy. Using the Response Surface Methodology to construct a experimental model to determine specific drying time: Dt(ph/kga/m2) = 43,424 - 1,905.T - 3,704.V - 0,043.D + 2,44.tĐ + 0,19.TV - 0,027.T.tĐ + 9,27-03.D.tĐ + 0,018.T2 - 27,20.V2 - 0,067.tĐ2. The use of this formula can predict drying time of paddy in Fixed Flat Batch Dryer.
