Study on Designing and Manufacturing Out-Tank Electroplating Equipment for Axle - Shaped Machine Parts

Abstract

The electroplating technology has been applied in Vietnam; however, the applications were found mainly in protective and decorative fields. One of the reasons why it has not been much applied to increase mechanical properties and restore machine parts results from a lack of reasonable electroplating equipment, especially for machine parts which are difficult to plate inside the tank; for example, crankshaft (one of typical axle-shaped machine parts). This paper showed research results on designing and manufacturing out-tank electroplating equipment for axle-shaped machine parts. The equipment had a large capacity of solution circulation and gave stable results of electroplating on samples. The results clearly indicate that the equipment was in prospect and need further study to electroplate real machine parts in industry
