Effect of Bipolaris oryzaeon Seed Germination Rate of Rice

Abstract

The effect of Bipolaris oryzaeinfection on germination of rice seeds cvs Huong Thom No1, IRi 352 and Tam xoan was carried out at the National Center for Plant and Fertilizer Testing. The seed samples carried three levels of B. oryzaeinfection. There was a negative relationship between the seed infection percentage and the percentage of normal seedlings. The decrease in germination was greater with the increase of infection level. Samples with higher infection of B. oryzaeshowed lower percentage of normal seedlings, higher percentage of abnormal seedlings and dead seeds.
