The Antibiotic Susceptibility ofClostridium perfringensIsolated from Cattle and Pigs with Diarrhea in Hanoi and Its Surrouding Areas
Abstract
A study was undertaken to determine the effective therapy for Clostrdialdiseases based on the antibiotic susceptibility of C. perfringensisolated from cattle and pigs with diarrhea. A total of 12 antibiotics of a broad-spectrum affecting wide range of bacteriaor particularly Gram (+) susceptive bacteria was used for the study. Results showed that almost all the C. perfringensisolates were susceptive to fluoroquinolon (such as enrofloxacin, ofloxacin), β-lactam antibiotics class including penicillin G and cephalosporin (such as cefotaxime, ceftiofur, cephalothin, ceftazidime) but resistant to aminoglycoside class (gentamicin, kanamycin and spectinomycin).
