Abstract
360 specimens of scale insect (Pseudococcussp) infected with mycopathogens in three Central highland provinces of Dak Lak, Dak Nong, and GiaLai were collected. The fugal isolation has identified a total of 11 fungal strains, ofwhich 4 strains (MR1 to MR4) belonging to Metarhizium anisopliae Sorokin and 7 strains (BR1 to BR7) belonging to Beauveria bassiana Vuill. The virulence test by evaluating extra-cellular enzyme activity indicated that the diffusion ring of the strain BR5 on chitin-T substrate was 15.33 mm and on chitin-C 16.00mm. The figures for the strain BR4 was 13.33 mm, and 13.83mm, respectively. Similarly. The strains MR1 and MR3 on these substrates produced a diffusion ring of 11.00 mm, and 15.33 mm and 11.33 mm and 14.33, respectively. These are 4 promising strains that could be utilized for mass production and control scale insect on coffee
