Abstract

This study aims to investigate physical and chemical properties of some yellowish red soils for landuse efficiency toward sustainable agriculture inBinh Thuan province. The main methods used in this study are: field survey and soil sampling and analysis. The results revealed that: the soils derived from granite, clay and sand rocks (Fa, Fs, Fq) are usually to have the depth from shallow to medium and soil fertility is poor with acid soil, low Cation exchange capacity, poor macro-elements such as N,P,K; These soils are suitable for development of forest in some area that located in the valley or hill bottom. In the valley, annual industrial crops are more suitable. The yellowish red soils are derived from Old alluvial (Fp) and Ferrasols derived frombasalt (Fk) have a number of advantages such as relatively flat topography, deep soil depth and richsoil fertility, which are suitable for rubber, cashew and other fruits, and crops. Finally, the soil fertilities of paddy of yellowish red soils have better than that of red soils due to human intervention.
