Abstract

The study was conducted to find microorganisms what be able to produce high chitosanase activity enzyme from natural soil. After the isolation, selection, chitosanase activity determined by DNS method that identified a bacteria strain (VK6) and an actinomycete strain (XK14) are capable of biosynthesis high chitosanase activity. The results of this study also showed some characteristics of chitosanase produced from VK6 and XK14. Specifically, the optimum pH for the activity of chitosanase from VK6 was pHopt 5.5, the optimal reaction temperature was 50oC, the optimal reaction time was 30 minutes. And the optimum conditions for activity of chitosanase from XK14 were pHopt 6.0, 55oC, 30 minutes. This result opens up the potential applicability of the enzyme chitosanase from the two microorganisms.
