Abstract

Some clinical and paraclinical parameters in pneumonia of calyes at Hanoi Animal Breed Centre and surrounding. This study were conducted on 150 healthy and 120 acute pneumonia calves at Hanoi Cattle Breeding Center and milk cow breeding households at Hanoi vicinity. Almost calves suffered from pneumonia by clinical examining showed typical clinical signs of acute lobar pneumonia. The clinical parameters such as body temperature, respiratory rate, heart rate increased from healthy calves: 41.2 > 38.60C; 76.36 > 34.22 (times/min); 142.76 > 91.10 (times/min). While the red blood cell number counts, hematocrit content, erythrocyte volumetric mass in pneumonia calves decreased in comparison with health calves: 5.13 < 5.75 (million/mm3); 9.22 < 10.56 (g%); 36.23 < 38.45 (%). On the contrary, the number of leucocytes in blood highly increased, particularly, the proportion of neutrophil strongly increased in pneumonia calves compared with healthy calves: 14.12 > 7.65 (thousand/mm3); 51.10 > 26.99 (%). Lymphocyte and monocyte in acute pneumonia calves decreased compared with healthy calves: 42.19 < 60.55 (%); 3.37 < 6.74 (%)
