Determining of Nitrogen and Potassium Rate for Xi23 Spring Rice in Thach Ha District, Ha Tinh Province

Abstract

The experiment was conducted at Thach Ha district in Ha Tinh province to study effect of nitrogen and potassium fertilizer levels on the growth, development, leaf area index (LAI), dry matter and yield on rice cultivar Xi23 in spring cropping season in 2008 using split-plot experimental design.  Increase of nitrogen and potassium fertilizer levels promoted the growth characters, viz. LAI, dry matter and increased yield components and grain yield. Nitrogen and K₂O fertilizers applied at the rate of  (120 k g N + 80 ¸ 100 k g K₂O) per hectare gave highest grain yield
