Point of view is often referred in a generalized way but now we can point out in a specific way based on direct speech in short stories of Nguyen Huy Thiep. We think that direct speech only has two different points of view if the subject of narration is different from the subject leaded by narration. If the subject of narration is the same to the subject leaded by narration (the narrator is the “I” character), direct speech only has one point of view. In addition, the concept on point of view in the direct speech made by the narrator is not entirely accurate. Although the point of view of the narrator in the speech is basic, there is also point of view of the other character.
