Abstract

Ho Chi Minh Road is an important main traffic, with strategic significance in all fields: polititic, defense and security, economy and socio - culture of  Vietnam. These traffic route is very sensitive to landslide activities. Every year, in rainy season occur the process of landslide with all different scales. The actually survey results on December in 2013 showed that only the storms No.9, No.10, No.11 and No.14 in 2013, on Ho Chi Minh Road through Quang Nam province with the lenght of 190 kilometers had 26 large and small sliding masses, 3 points of gully erosion, 1 point of flash flood and 2 other points of araising debrish flow with total volume of rock and soil in sliding masses is 45.884 m3. In general, the sliding masses have been built mostly of the preventive works. However, a number of slope stabilization works were built in a long time had no effect, some etaining walls and embankments were downgraded seriously. Therefore, the purpose of this report would like to mention the following:

- Assess the present state of landslide and the effect of preventive landside works in rainy season 2013

- Zoning the risk of landslides along the corridor of research route by using mathematic models-mapping.
